INQUIRY + CONSULTATION You can submit a request form through my Venue.ink profile (button below). These include consultations and touch-ups. On Venue, I will be able to accept or decline your request, and chat with you periodically about your appointment. (I usually say yes unless I think another artist is better suited for your idea!) If I think I need more information about your request, I will ask to schedule an in-person or video consultation to discuss your design in further detail. 02. DEPOSIT + CHOOSING A DATE Deposits are requested on Venue.ink to confirm your appointment. Deposits for flash designs are $50 and deposits for customs are $80 . For GUEST SPOTS, the deposit amount is $100 . Only accepted submissions will have to submit deposits. Once you have submitted your deposit, you will be able to select a day and time that align with both of our schedules. ALL DATES ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. NOTE: You can pay your deposit using Apple pay, or a debit/ credit card. 03. PRICING, PAYMENT, AND ESTIMATES Estimates will be sent after you submit an inquiry! I can often work with budgets (breaking up sessions into payable chunks when possible). My shop minimum is $100* . Custom sessions will now be priced at a flat rate (based on my hourly rate of $150/hr)* . ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS: cash, Zelle, or credit/debit (with a processing fee.)* 04. TATTOO DESIGNS Unless you choose a pre-made flash piece, your design won't be available until 1 day before your appointment. I tattoo customs, pre-made flash designs, and occasionally reworks. All designs will be drawn in my style. If you're unhappy with your design, please say so. If a redraw is necessary, we may need to reschedule your appointment. 05. NON-REFUNABLE DEPOSIT Deposits are paid in order to confirm your appointment. The deposit goes toward the final cost of your tattoo. The non-refundable deposit is a holding deposit to hold your appointment date/ time and allows me to begin working on your design. 06. CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULING, LATE & NO-SHOWS LATE/NO-SHOW : I allow a 15-minute grace period for everyone. If you think you will be more than 15 minutes late, I might have to reschedule you. If you no-show, your deposit will be forfeited and I will not accept your requests moving forward. CANCELLING/ RESCHEDULING: You are permitted to reschedule ONE time before your deposit is forfeited as long as you cancel at least 72 hours before your appointment. Rescheduling to another date should be figured out within 3 days. If you cancel without a 72 hour notice, your deposit will be voided. We can reschedule a date, depending on my availability. My books typically close within 1 to 5 days after opening. After I have received enough submissions to fill 1 to 2 months, I will close my books. My name is Jay Filer. Currently, I am a tattoo artist at Noble Coyote Tattoo in Chicago, IL. I am also genderqueer and use they/them/theirs pronouns . I have many artistic inspirations that influence my work. I'd describe my style as primarily black and grey, fineline, and illustrative. I tend to focus on material that is natural, nostalgic, and whimsical. I'm heavily inspired by botanicals, textile crafts and patterns, and nostalgic media. Don't fret, I LOVE to tattoo with color too! Outside of tattooing, I enjoy cross-stitching, vending at local art markets, haunting local coffee shops, and caring for my cats: Mouse(rat) and Nami. I have considered myself an artist for my entire life. I've explored a number of mediums over the years, and have really found my groove with tattooing. I started tattooing in August of 2022. First, I explored handpoking, then later transitioned to a machine and handpoke hybrid style. I am excited to learn more about the art form as I continue my tattooing journey! Flash Tattoos Running low on tattoo ideas? No worries! That's what flash is for. Flash tattoos are pre-drawn designs that you can choose from. Typically these have a set price, and can be adjusted in size to fit any area of your body. This service requires a $50 deposit to book. Go to Custom Tattoos Custom tattoos are a collaborative, creative creation between the artist and the client. Custom tattoos are often 1 of 1 designs. This service requires an $80 deposit to book. Go to Creative Consultations A consultation is time for the artist and the client to see if they are right for one another. Consultations create a clear game plan for what the tattoo will look like, and what the client can expect from the service. This service does not require a deposit.
